An NFF Training Tech Operator has been awarded a Highly Commended Apprenticeship of the Year; the award was presented by Alan Wallace, Director of National Apprenticeships from Gateshead College and NFF Managing Director, David Sillars.  Ross Blyth has been with NFF since February 2003 and has recently completed his NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Mechanical Maintenance and is soon to begin the 3rd year of his apprenticeship to become an electrian.

Joanne Dodson, head of apprenticeships at Gateshead College, said; “We are extremely proud that Ross has been recognised for this national award.  To be selected from thousands of nominees from across the country is a real achievement and clearly demonstrates the hard work that he has put in.”

David Sillars, Managing Director of NFF Added; “NFF are extremely pleased to offer a supportive enviroment for this achievement to take place and actively encourage staff to maximise their potential.  It’s encouraging that there are still engineering opportunities available in such a difficult economic climate and that there are young people like Ross willing to fill them.”
